Youth2Unite: "Hate Speech and Hate crimes: a phenomenon that affects us and that we can face"
“What do you need to know in order to respond to incidents of hate speech?”
The Thematic Workshop will take place on Tuesday 21 December 2021 at Serafio of the Municipality of Athens and will last three hours (17:30-20:30).
The workshop will take place at the Center for Sports, Culture and Innovation “Serafio” of the Municipality of Athens on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 17:30. The activities of the workshop aim to raise awareness among the young people who will participate and strengthen their knowledge, skills and abilities to address issues related to preventing and combating incidents related to hate crimes and hate speech.
During the workshop, participants will be given the opportunity to take part in interactive training activities in order to:
- Expand their existing knowledge and skills on hate speech and hate crimes,
- to be empowered to act effectively and safely when confronted with an incident of verbal or physical hate speech,
- to feel that every action, even the smallest, is meaningful.
The workshop will be supported by a set of experiential tools and participatory activities.
The Youth2Unite project is implemented in the framework of the European Erasmus+ programme and promotes the fight against hate crime and hate speech through raising awareness among young people for their active participation in preventing and combating such incidents. The project is carried out by a consortium of European organisations active in the field of human rights and anti-discrimination.
The Youth2Unite project is being implemented in France, Germany, Cyprus, the United Kingdom and Greece.
