VISION

Visualising the Future Through Training

Description

The VISION project aims to address one of the main challenges faced by prisoners after their release, which is obtaining and maintaining quality employment. To this end, the project partners design and implement innovative vocational training opportunities for prisoners supported by the application of VR (virtual reality) technology, aiming to increase prisoners’ motivation to participate in education and employment. The ultimate goal of the project is the successful economic and social reintegration of prisoners into their communities after release.

Activities

  • Primary and secondary research to create a digital tool to identify the educational needs of prisoners and their motivation for participating in vocational training programs.
  • Research and comparative analysis on the existing vocational training programs in prisons of the partner countries (Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Romania and Greece)
  • Development of educational scenarios (lesson plans) for selected training programs, using virtual reality tools and applications.
  • Training of trainers in the use of virtual reality applications for the training of prisoners
  • Research and development of a Manual for Trainers in vocational training programs in Detention Centers regarding the use and application of virtual reality tools.
  • Training of a group of 25 prisoners from each participating country in selected training programs using virtual reality applications.
