CO-BIO
PROJECT

Description:

The Co-Bio project aims to bolster the EU Biodiversity Strategy 2030 by specifically targeting urban biodiversity. The project will create a guide that equips local stakeholders with the knowledge, skills, and tools to co-create solutions for enhancing urban biodiversity.

The Co-Bio project will result in capacity building of professional and volunteer adults within the public, private and civil society sector in how to co-create shared solutions for urban biodiversity.

The partners will also develop a training methodology and train themselves to facilitate local co-creation efforts, subsequently implementing and testing these methodologies and the guide through six local case projects.

Activities:

  • Conducting a state-of-the-art analysis and local mapping
  • Developing a teaching methodology on facilitating co-creation and conducting a train-the-trainer workshop
  • Creating a guide on local co-creation for urban biodiversity and promoting its use
  • Implementing the teaching methodology and guide through six local case projects
  • Facilitating in-person and virtual exchanges between the different case projects
  • Evaluating the project to assess the relevance and impact of the developed outputs and activities.

Results:

  • Capacity building among professionals and volunteers in the public, private, and civil society sectors, enabling them to co-create solutions for urban biodiversity,
  • The creation of a “Guide on local co-creation for urban biodiversity”,
  • Valuable insights into the factors driving local co-creation,
  • The development of a “Teaching methodology” for local trainers and educators to promote the facilitation of local co-creation as a learning process.
