The project AI Academy: A European Collaborative Framework for AI Teacher Training and School Innovation aims to establish a European collaborative framework for training teachers in Artificial Intelligence (AI). It focuses on enhancing teachers’ digital competencies, promoting the responsible and innovative use of AI in schools, while addressing ethical challenges and the digital transformation in education. The project’s implementation is anchored in the Communities of Practice (CoP) and Living Labs methodologies. Through Communities of Practice, the project fosters continuous knowledge exchange and mutual support among educators, while Living Labs serve as open innovation ecosystems where AI-driven educational solutions are co-created and tested in real-life classroom settings.
Activities:
- Design and implementation of training programs and mobility actions for teachers and student teachers.
- Conducting research and needs analyses regarding the use of AI in education.
- Development of digital tools and methodologies for teaching with the use of AI.
- Organization of conferences, seminars, and workshops for result dissemination and exchange of best practices
Results:
- A comprehensive European AI Competence Framework for teachers.
- Innovative curricula and educational materials for AI in primary, and secondary education.
- A digital platform (AI Academy Hub) to host educational resources and facilitate community networking.
- Policy recommendations for the integration of AI into national education systems.s.
