TRAINING IN GDANSK, POLAND

19-20-21 FEBRUARY 2024

On 19-20-21 February 2024, Gdańsk University of Technology in Poland hosted the training of the NEWCOMERS@WORK project.

Over 30 youth workers from our project consortium, gathered in an enthusiastic setting to take part in this educational experience.

During the meeting, participants were introduced to the project and had the opportunity to learn about key findings from the national reports of the partners in the 6 participating countries.

ENGAGING TRAINING HIGHLIGHTS

The training was full of engaging activities such as an introduction to the NEWCOMERS@WORK Curriculum, the curriculum framework and the overall approach to curriculum development and delivery. Participants were divided into working groups where they had the opportunity to participate in workshops from the four modules:

  • Module 1: Needs of NEETs
  • Module 2: Language and digital skills for employability
  • Module 3: Soft and life skills for employability
  • Module 4: Creating synergies

We have successfully completed our three-day training as part of the NEWCOMERS@WORK project in Gdansk, Poland! Our last activity was a study visit to the Emigration Museum, which tells the story of Poles in emigration. It was an inspiring and educational experience learning about the history and impact of Polish emigration.

OVERVIEW OF OUR PROJECT'S ACTIVITIES & RESULTS

Our curriculum is rapidly evolving! Backed by comprehensive national reports from six countries, insightful interviews with migrant NEETs, enriching focus group discussions with youth workers and the 4 modules created, our project is advancing with purpose.

The recent training done by our dedicated youth workers marks a pivotal moment, setting the stage for the upcoming pilot phase led by these very individuals.
