PARTICIPATION
The 40-hour training seminars organised online by the Athens Lifelong Learning Institute in the context of the European “e-engAGEd” project offer skills related to the above issues, aiming to enhance the digital and teaching skills of people aged 18-29 years old.
Participation in the training is free of charge and will help you to:
• gain knowledge on digital and media literacy issues,
• understand the concepts of active digital participation and digital citizenship,
• strengthen your critical and analytical thinking,
• gain a deeper understanding of misinformation and fake news,
• gain knowledge of techniques for teaching older people.
TOPICS
The content of the training is based on current topics as well as your interests.
You will be equipped with the necessary tools (strategies, training tools, case studies, etc.) and informed about issues related to the digital environment and active digital participation in the public sphere. The tools and skills you will acquire during the training will enable your role as a facilitator of older people.
The topics that will be covered during the training are as follows:
• Connectivity anytime and everywhere
• Communication, networking and content creation
• Digital citizenship
• Digital ethics and behaviour
• New technologies in a new environment
• Principles of intergenerational learning
The way in which the internet and its content should be treated is ageless. This training is offered as an attempt to enhance the skills of people of all ages by applying principles of intergenerational learning.
Thus, training 18–29-year-olds as media literacy trainers is only the beginning.
