Digital Literacy


The Teachers 4.0 Digital Age project is a large capacity-building programme, which will provide the context, tools and means to ensure that teachers and educators across Europe will be adequately armed in the process of promoting digital literacy and tackling disinformation. 


Digital literacy and tackling disinformation are among the top three digital skills needed for the 21st century. Teachers need to be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to empower their students to think critically, make informed choices online and stay safe whilst continuously building their resilience in the digital world.


  • Development of a comprehensive curriculum that will be used from the educators during their trainings, in order to upskill their students on matters of digital literacy. The curriculum will consist of 10 modules and will last for 60 training hours.
  • Creation of a University course, regarding the matter of disinformation and digital literacy
  • Development of an eLearning platform that will facilitate the trainings through a blended approach.
  • Delivery of large – scale upskilling activities in 6 EU Members: 2.100 in-service teachers/ educators and teachers-to-be will be trained.
  • The Teachers 4.0 Digital Age Curriculum, a 60 hour and 10 module training material, along with supplementary teaching and learning material. This resource will be used on later stages in the process of upskilling the in service and to – be teachers in the field of digital literacy.
  • The Teachers 4.0 Digital Age eLearning Platform, an affordable, accessible and effective educational method that will facilitate the process of upskilling through engaging educational material, collaborative techniques, discussion forums etc.
  • The University Course for Pre – Service and In – Service Teachers.
  • Policy Dialogue and Reform: the results of the project will be exploited in order to express effective policy recommendations
