- Are you 18-25 or 50+ years old?
- How do different generations use the internet?
- What does it mean to be an active citizen in the digital world?
- Do you know what misinformation, fake news and propaganda are? How do they affect us?
In the context of the event organised by the Athens Lifelong Learning Institute and People Behind, the European project “E-engAGEd”, funded by the European Commission’s Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) Programme, seeks to provide answers to these questions.
The event entitled “Disinformation and participation in the digital world – Intergenerational debates” will take place on Friday 8 December 2023 at IEK SBIE (15-17 Kaniggos Square, 10677, Athens) at 11:00 – 13:00.
This event will offer you a unique opportunity to gain new knowledge based on different perspectives, exchange ideas and explore solutions to counter disinformation and propaganda in the digital age. You will take part in a fruitful dialogue and share your experiences, fears and concerns in the online world.
People of the younger generation (Gen Z – 18-25 years old) will have the opportunity to talk to people of a different generation (50+ years old) about active citizenship in the digital world, the opportunities it offers and the risks involved.
In the online world, all people are treated in the same way regardless of their age and skills.
Can we therefore talk about a digital democracy?
Dialogue between different generations provides the answer to this question!
